Well, for watching the fireworks I would recommend to(politely) crash a local rooftop-party!

I you prefer to stay grounded, Senso-ji Temple is a popular (crowded) area for watching the blooming fireflowers, or Sumida park (also crowded).

i think alot more are experimenting with not conforming especially after seeing their parents do it all their lives for very little in return.

but their numbers are probably small,and saddly it may all just be on the surface as you say.
